In pursuit of our goal and happiness

"Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner" - Les Brown

By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination.” - Christopher Columbus

This scene from the film "In Pursuit of Happyness" starring Will Smith clearly epitomise the need for us to set a goal and achieve it by any means necessary. Dream the impossible and do not let anyone tell you to tone down that dream or said that your dream is impossible. The only limit of your capabilities is bounded by the limit of your imagination. The only person who can stop you or limit your capabilities is yourself.

Large income does not equal wealth

If you are not as wealthy as you like, there is something you don’t know.” – David Wood

Wealth is largely a result of habit.” – John Jacob Astor

Many of us make a lot of money as we progress in our careers. Many people earns a monthly income of thousands of dollars and some even much much higher. Despite the big money, they are not much the difference between a minimum wage person who earns a few hundred dollars a month. At the end of the month, these people who earns thousands of dollars are just as broke as everybody else. This is because, the higher they earn, the larger the debt that they can accumulate. For example, bigger house, bigger car, fancier gadgets would led them to bigger debt than before.

Wealth is your net worth. Inflow is larger than outflow equals wealth. Outflow is larger than inflow equals headache. Develop wealthy habit and not a spender habit and you are on your way to financial freedom sooner than you think.

Have Dreams, Explore Life

"You can either be an actor in your own life, or a reactor in somebody else's." - Hillary Rodham Clinton

"To have passion, to have a dream, to have a purpose in life. And there are three components to that purpose, one is to find out who you really are, to discover God, the second is to serve other human beings, because we are here to do that and the third is to express your unique talents and when you are expressing your unique talents you lose track of time." - Deepak Chopra

They always say that people who lives in depression are said to be people who have lost their ways. They lost their ways in life and are struggling to climb back. But actually, people in depression is not people who are lost. They are actually people who are drifting by in life without any specific destination in mind. Lost people in the other hand, have a destination in their mind, they just cannot find the way. People who are drifting are far more dangerous as they have no intention of living their life and does not even react to the happenings around their life. They only float by in life waiting for it to end. Referring to the above two quotes, it is important that we have a definite goals for ourselves as to not let us float by. The goal will drive us forward and live life to our potential and not let the environment control us. It does not matter how big or small the goal is. By having it, it will give the energy for us to take control of our life and pushing us to explore life and living it to the fullest.

Illusion of Employment

Don't let the illusion of full employment entrap you. You may feel important, you may feel a part of a team working towards a common goal, but basically, employment only taps a small portion of your potential limits. That's why it's called the 'Rat Race'. You run blindly towards what your job requires you to do while enriching the owner of the company. The potential of your limit is not bounded by what your job is or what role you are in your work. You maybe working on the lower rung of the corporate level, but by tapping inside your inner self, you do have the potential as big as the owner of the company. The potential of your limit is determined by your own mind and action. Imagine the impossible, act towards it, and success will be yours.

Conquering Fear

'The enemy is fear. We think it is hate; but, it is fear.' - Gandhi.

'Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.' - Dale Carnegie.

Fear is a great paralyzer. It holds you from achieving the full potential of your life. Fear comes from human basic instinct of self protection. It helps humans to avoid any necessary danger. But too much fear stiffles a person from doing any action that can promote personal growth. If you have fear of public speaking for example, the logic thinking of your brain is to avoid the circumstances as best as possible. By avoiding the thing you fear such as public speaking, you are not solving any problem . You also will not challenge yourself to grow. By doing the things you fear, you will in time conquer the fear and therefore will make you the master of your own destiny.
